Electrostatic precipitator Upgrade in Pilsen

EO v PLTEP po upgrade

ESP in Plzenska Teplarenska enjoyed reconstruction consisting of improvement in flue gases control and distribution, new high voltage micropulse Coromax® tanks and mechanical repairs. It remunerated us with PM emissions in range 2,2 – 7,9 mg/Nm3.

Final dust emissions in stack are according to guarantee measurement in range 1,4 – 1,8 mg/Nm3. Considering 23 years old technology, not bad, is it?

Aeras is a member of Centrum for Excellence

Model EFQM

Quality, improvement and best practices are not just empty words for us, which stay locked on QM desks. We strive to improve and learn. We believe that Centrum for Excellence founded by Czech quality association is a way how to learn from the best. We are convinced that improvement in processes, procedures and final quality will be reflected by our customers, suppliers and partners soon.

For curious – CfE issued 2020 version of EFQM model, you can download it here (in Czech). It is a complex tool for management improvement via self assessment of key areas.

Aeras is active also on the Polish market now

Thanks to the signing of the representation contract with Enfit, Aeras is active on the market with our northern neighbours, especially in the field of municipality heating plants and a construction of new biomass boilers.

Contact at the Polish representation is ENFIT Sp. from o.o., Mr. Czeslaw Kominek, +48 601 246 578.

Testimonials from the Seminar Dosing of Powder Active Coal for Energy Blocks

In great interest, experts from the most important energy companies held a seminar on reducing Hg emissions by dosing activated carbon. It was divided into two days and they performed in addition to Dr. Pilar from CTU as well as Cabot, Vulcascot, Rataj, FLSmidth Pfister and Aeras. Various methods of mercury oxidation and retention, principles for intensification of EO or TF for increased retention, types, composition and modalities of activated carbon dosing have been discussed. The issue of halogenization of activated carbon, without which the process is ineffective, but high concentration can cause unwanted corrosion of the device. Gravimetric dosing technology was interesting to minimize operating costs through accurate and reliable dosing.

The specifics of individual plants are always important. As Ing pointed out. Václavík: ... The idea that you connect a mobile device, you start dosing activated charcoal and everything will be resolved is completely odd. Each process must be approached individually and respected by its specifics”. Dr. Pilař added that based on measurements, the same conditions are not even in different boilers on one site.

Participants of the seminar left satisfied and armed with new knowledge.

Fabric filter in the Olomouc heating plant successfully completed

In September, it was possible to commission and pass a cloth filter for Veolia Energie ČR, a.s. into use. The contractual value of TZL emissions was set at 7 mg/m3, with a single verification measurement of about 2 mg/m3. We thank all partners for their assistance in finishing this work, which will reduce the emissions of flying dust in Olomouc.

Emissions of the dust of the Mount Etna volcano

24. 12. 2018, the Sicilian volcano Etna woke up. By comparing it to other eruptions, we estimate the emissaries of very fine dust (PM 2.5, PM 10) to 2.3 million. tonnes/day. By comparison, the average brown coal-fired power plant meeting the current emission limits with a power of 700-800 MW will release a similar amount of dust in about 100 years of full power operation. Note. We consider the amount of output gas 4.4488 mil m3/h, output concentration 15 mg/m3, 365 days/year of operation.

Polluted air is the fourth most common cause of death

Taken from The Guardian

According to the British newspaper, more than 95% of the world's population breathes polluted air, especially the ever-growing population in cities. Scissors between air quality in developed and developing countries are further open. Since 1990, the gap between the least and most polluted areas has increased from six times to eleven times.

The World Health Organization considers air pollution to be the biggest global environmental problem (more here) with more than six million deaths a year caused by polluted air.

Share of flying dust emissions

Interesting data is available on the ČHMÚ website. It follows that more than half of the household is most involved in the emissions of flying dust PM2.5 and PM10, followed by a large range of energy and heating, agriculture, road transport and mining.
